The first corner retirement of Giancarlo Fisichella, and the 9th lap retirement of Adrian Sutil has hit Force India badly. Both the drivers expressed their disappointment. Vijay Mallya, owner of the team, said that after all, their practise pace was good, and the car which ran could actually run with the midfield - so all was not lost.
